Our Hermosa Beach Telecommunications Brokerage and Consulting, Inc. 5000 Company is looking for someone to join our team as a full-time Commissions Assurance Supervisor. 

General Summary:

As a key member of our financial operations, the Commissions Assurance Supervisor is primarily responsible for hiring and providing training and supervision to a team of Commissions Specialists. This position is also responsible for processing agent commissions, fielding and resolving commission inquiries, and assisting with regular report generation and commission validations.

In addition, this position is responsible for evaluating, recommending and implementing process improvements that will strengthen the operational efficiency and scalability of the Commissions function.   This position is based in Hermosa Beach, California and reports to the Director of Financial Operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of Commission Specialists, including scheduling and distributing a daily workload.  Manages performance outcomes for the team which include developing performance goals, setting expectations, providing regular supervision, coaching and performance feedback to team members.
  • Hire and orient new team members.  Supervise training of new and existing team members including processes for order entry, handling commission inquires, carrier commission validation and escalations.  Oversee and ensure commission escalations are handled in a timely and effective manner.
  • Handle and respond to commission inquiries.
  • Oversee and perform order entry and report generation.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Perform other related projects and duties as assigned.

Work Requirements:

  • Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize a large workload, including the ability to parse and delegate work for maximum efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to select, motivate and provide supervision to a team of high performing professionals.
  • Excellent customer service, time management and team building skills with the ability to effectively address and resolve customer concerns and issues in a diplomatic manner.  Must possess the ability to deal with conflict effectively and remain calm and productive when under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Must be detail, process and quality oriented.  Possess strong organizational skills including excellent problem solving and analytical skills.  Previous experience with high level data analysis and forecast modeling a plus.   
  • Must be motivated by working in a high energy sales environment with the ability to do independent as well as team planning and goal setting.
  • Needs well developed skills in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based or Mac computer applications.  Must demonstrate highly developed proficiency and experience with Excel.  
  • High level of integrity and discretion with an ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be available during work hours to answer general inbound phone calls.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related area strongly preferred. 
  • 2-3 years previous experience with commissions, accounting/finance or other related back office support required.
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
